ReBoot: the magic of Cornish hedges

Posted on 01.04.22

ReBoot is Cornwall’s first environmental growth programme, focussing on the tourism sector (but useful to all) kicked off in 2015 and inspired by our very own Stephen Warman‘s coining of the term way back then. We take one issue at a time and work with a bunch of fantastic CoaST champions and ambassadors, going on knowledge-hunting adventures to other businesses to share the fantastic good practice, up all our skills, and inspire each other to do even more …

Here we talk to the master hedge-man to tell us the extraordinary tale of how Cornish hedges cycle water, remove pollutants, protect livestock, sequester carbon, protect soil, provide habitat and forage and create uninterrupted wildife corridors connecting multiple habitats and species. Filmed on site with our adventurous CoaSTie champions and ambassadors at the wonderful Hen House B&B on the Lizard in Cornwall.

With beautiful filming from the fabulous Nina Constable.

Awesome. Enjoy.

Cornish hedges – one of the wonders of the natural world. You’ll never look at one the same again.
