Our CSAs do a fantastic job producing nutritious food grown agro-ecologically, and building strong, mutually supportive food communities around their businesses. Our growers and farmers are at the forefront of transitioning to the sustainable food system we need for planetary survival.
At the same time, one of the significant issues of concern within the global and UK CSA movements is the lack of diversity in farmers and membership and the lack of inclusion of the financially excluded.
With this in mind, we brought together a group of 12 CSAs who wanted to explore the challenges and suggest solutions. This report sets out what we found, and we hope it helps in however small a way to move towards a food system which is indeed just for people, the planet and producers.
